Drug intelligence / Profile preview
TrastuzOral is an investigational oral formulation of the anti-HER2 antibody trastuzumab, being developed for the treatment of HER2-positive breast cancer. This novel formulation is a collaborative project between Bio-Sourcing and Zerion Pharma, funded by a €1.3 million grant from the EUREKA Eurostars program. It leverages Bio-Sourcing's BioMilk™ platform, which produces the antibody in goat's milk, and Zerion's Dispersome® technology for solid oral dosage. The aim is to provide a more convenient oral alternative to the current intravenous administration of trastuzumab, thereby improving patient experience and potentially capturing a significant market share. The drug is currently undergoing preclinical validation, with Phase I clinical studies anticipated around 2030.
