Trastuzumab + docetaxel + carboplatin is a combination chemotherapy regimen primarily used for the treatment of HER2-positive breast cancer. Trastuzumab is a monoclonal antibody that targets the human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2), inhibiting proliferation of tumor cells that overexpress this protein. Docetaxel is a taxane-class small molecule chemotherapeutic agent that stabilizes microtubules and prevents their depolymerization, thereby inhibiting cell division and inducing apoptosis in rapidly dividing cancer cells. Carboplatin is a platinum-based small molecule chemotherapeutic agent that forms DNA crosslinks, leading to apoptosis by interfering with DNA replication and transcription. This combination regimen (often referred to as TCH or TCbH) has demonstrated efficacy in both neoadjuvant and adjuvant settings for HER2-positive early-stage and metastatic breast cancer[1][3][4][5]. Trastuzumab was developed by Genentech/Roche; docetaxel by Sanofi; carboplatin was originally developed by Johnson Matthey/Pharmacia.
