Trastuzumab + TP refers to a combination therapy regimen commonly used in the treatment of HER2-positive cancers, particularly breast and gastric cancers. In this context, "TP" typically stands for the chemotherapy agents docetaxel (T) and cisplatin (P), which are often combined with trastuzumab for enhanced efficacy in certain cancer protocols. Trastuzumab is a humanized monoclonal antibody that selectively binds to the extracellular domain of the human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 protein (HER2). By binding to HER2, trastuzumab inhibits downstream signaling pathways such as MAPK and PI3K/Akt, leading to cell cycle arrest and suppression of tumor cell proliferation. It also mediates antibody-dependent cellular cytotoxicity (ADCC), recruiting immune cells to destroy HER2-overexpressing tumor cells[1][4][5][6]. The addition of docetaxel and cisplatin provides cytotoxic effects through microtubule stabilization (docetaxel) and DNA crosslinking/inhibition of DNA synthesis (cisplatin). This combination is primarily indicated for HER2-positive breast cancer, advanced gastric cancer, or gastroesophageal junction adenocarcinoma.
