Overview

EG12014 is a biosimilar of trastuzumab, a recombinant humanized IgG1 monoclonal antibody that targets the human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2/ERBB2). It is developed for the treatment of HER2-positive breast cancer and metastatic gastric cancer. EG12014 binds to the extracellular domain of the HER2 receptor on tumor cells and inhibits proliferation by blocking downstream signaling pathways involved in cell growth and survival. The drug has demonstrated equivalent efficacy and safety to reference trastuzumab in clinical trials. Developed by EirGenix with Sandoz as commercial partner, it has received marketing authorization from the European Commission for use in these indications and market approval in Taiwan[1][2][4][6].
