This is a combination regimen of two anticancer agents used primarily in the treatment of HER2-positive metastatic breast cancer. Trastuzumab emtansine (also known as T-DM1 or ado-trastuzumab emtansine) is an antibody-drug conjugate that combines the HER2-targeted monoclonal antibody trastuzumab with the cytotoxic agent DM1 (emtansine), a microtubule inhibitor. Vinorelbine is a semi-synthetic vinca alkaloid that also acts as a microtubule inhibitor by interfering with tubulin polymerization, thereby inhibiting mitosis. The combination aims to enhance antitumor efficacy by targeting HER2-overexpressing tumor cells through two distinct mechanisms—antibody-mediated delivery of cytotoxic payload and direct disruption of cell division[2][4][5].
