Drug intelligence / Profile preview
**trastuzumab-IRDye700DX** is an experimental HER2-targeted antibody-photoabsorber conjugate for near-infrared photoimmunotherapy. It consists of the anti-HER2 humanized monoclonal antibody trastuzumab covalently linked to the silicon-phthalocyanine photoabsorber IRDye700DX. Following binding to HER2 on tumor-cell membranes, local irradiation with approximately 690 nm near-infrared light activates the conjugate and causes rapid, selective membrane damage and cell death in HER2-expressing cells. It has been evaluated in preclinical models of HER2-positive breast cancer, gastric cancer with peritoneal dissemination, ovarian cancer, and esophageal adenocarcinoma. This is a laboratory-prepared research-stage conjugate rather than an approved trastuzumab product or a marketed NIR-photoimmunotherapy drug.
