Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Traumalix Dolo is a topical analgesic and anti-inflammatory gel developed by Drossapharm AG for the treatment of sports-related injuries, including sprains, contusions, and strains. The active ingredient is etofenamat (5%), a small molecule non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). Etofenamat works by inhibiting the cyclooxygenase enzymes (COX-1 and COX-2), which are responsible for the synthesis of prostaglandins that mediate pain and inflammation. The gel formulation is designed for external application, allowing the active substance to penetrate the skin and reach the underlying affected tissues. It is currently approved and marketed in Switzerland.
