Drug intelligence / Profile preview
TRAVOPROSTIN is a preservative-free ophthalmic solution of travoprost (0.004% w/v) developed and marketed by Eyekare Kilitch. As a prostaglandin F2-alpha analogue, it functions as a selective agonist for the prostaglandin FP receptor. The drug is indicated for the reduction of elevated intraocular pressure in patients with open-angle glaucoma or ocular hypertension, particularly those who are intolerant of or insufficiently responsive to other medications. It works by increasing uveoscleral outflow to lower intraocular pressure. A key feature of TRAVOPROSTIN is its formulation in a specialized multi-dose container that eliminates the need for preservatives, making it an ideal option for patients with ocular surface sensitivity or chronic use requirements.
