Drug intelligence / Profile preview
TrazoFlex is a reformulated version of the antidepressant trazodone, developed by Spektus Pharma using proprietary drug delivery platforms such as Flexitab™ and AmyloFlex™. It is an oral solid formulation designed for the treatment of depression, utilizing the 505(b)(2) regulatory pathway for improved delivery profiles. As a Serotonin Antagonist and Reuptake Inhibitor (SARI), the active ingredient trazodone exerts its therapeutic effects by inhibiting the serotonin transporter (SERT) and antagonizing the 5-HT2A receptor. The product line includes TrazoFlex 24 (extended-release) and TrazoFlex CR (controlled-release), both aimed at optimizing the pharmacokinetic profile of trazodone for better patient outcomes in major depressive disorder.
