Drug intelligence / Profile preview
TRBC1 antibody refers to monoclonal antibodies targeting T-cell receptor beta constant 1 (TRBC1), one of the two mutually exclusive constant region isoforms of the T-cell receptor beta chain (the other being TRBC2). In a normal polyclonal T-cell population, there is a mixture of TRBC1-positive and TRBC1-negative (TRBC2-positive) T cells. In contrast, clonal T-cell malignancies (such as T-cell lymphomas and leukemias) express either TRBC1 or TRBC2, but not both. TRBC1 antibodies, most notably the JOVI-1 clone, are widely utilized as diagnostic reagents in flow cytometry and immunohistochemistry to assess T-cell clonality. Additionally, TRBC1 antibodies are being developed as therapeutic platforms, including chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) T-cell therapies (e.g., AUTO4) and antibody-drug conjugates (ADCs), to selectively deplete malignant TRBC1-positive T cells while sparing healthy TRBC2-positive T cells to preserve cellular immunity.
