TRC093 is a first-in-class humanized recombinant IgG1 monoclonal antibody that targets multiple epitopes on denatured or cleaved collagens in the extracellular matrix. By binding to these cryptic collagen sites exposed during angiogenesis and tumor growth, TRC093 inhibits proteolytic collagen-mediated signaling pathways critical for tumor angiogenesis, tumor cell proliferation, and metastasis. The drug has demonstrated preclinical activity as monotherapy or in combination with chemotherapy in models of melanoma, breast cancer, and pancreatic cancer. It is being developed for oncology indications (solid tumors) as well as ophthalmology indications such as age-related macular degeneration (AMD)[1][2][4][5].
