treamid

Treamid is a small molecule drug, chemically known as the bisamide derivative of dicarboxylic acid (BDDA), and also referenced by code names such as XC268BG. It acts as a complexing agent capable of chelating metal ions including calcium, copper, iron, magnesium, and zinc[1][4]. Treamid has demonstrated regenerative properties and the ability to restore function in various tissues and organs. Preclinical studies indicate antifibrotic activity in models of pulmonary fibrosis and positive effects on lung capillaries[3]. The drug is being developed primarily for respiratory diseases with fibrotic or inflammatory components—such as idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF), chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), COVID-19-related lung injury, metabolic syndrome, and other fibrotic conditions[2][3][8][10]. Clinical trials have included Phase 1 safety studies in healthy volunteers and Phase 2/3 efficacy studies in patients recovering from COVID-19 pneumonia or with pulmonary fibrosis[5][7]. The oral tablet formulation is under development by Pharmenterprises for these indications[9].
