Tree MATA MPL is a pre-seasonal subcutaneous immunotherapy product developed for the treatment of allergic rhinitis and/or rhinoconjunctivitis due to tree pollen hypersensitivity. It contains an extract of multiple tree pollens modified with glutaraldehyde to form allergoids that reduce reactivity with immunoglobulin E (IgE) antibodies while preserving T-cell reactivity. The allergoid is adsorbed onto microcrystalline tyrosine as a depot adjuvant system and includes monophosphoryl lipid-A (MPL) as an adjuvant to enhance the immune response and promote a shift from Th2 to Th1 helper T-cell responses. This formulation aims to induce broad protective immune responses by stimulating IgG4 and IgA antibody production, thereby reducing allergic symptoms[3].
