Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Tregocel is a polyherbal nutraceutical dietary supplement formulated to support joint function and alleviate symptoms of mild knee osteoarthritis. It contains a specific combination of curcuminoids and extracts from four medicinal plants: *Harpagophytum procumbens* (Devil's Claw), *Boswellia serrata* (Indian Frankincense), *Apium graveolens* (Celery), and *Zingiber officinale* (Ginger). The supplement is designed to be used as a complementary therapy alongside standard pharmacological treatments. Clinical data from a multicenter, open-label study (NCT03636035) indicated that long-term supplementation with Tregocel significantly improves physical functionality, reduces joint stiffness, and decreases pain levels in patients with symptomatic mild knee osteoarthritis. Its mechanism of action is attributed to the synergistic anti-inflammatory properties of its constituents, which modulate inflammatory pathways including the inhibition of COX-2 and 5-LOX enzymes.
