Overview

TREM2-CAR-Monocytes are an experimental autologous cell therapy in which patient-derived monocytes are engineered to express a chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) targeting Triggering receptor expressed on myeloid cells 2 (TREM2), an immunoglobulin superfamily receptor predominantly expressed on tumor-associated macrophages and other immunosuppressive myeloid cells in the tumor microenvironment. By redirecting monocytes with a TREM2-specific CAR, the therapy is intended to recognize and modulate or eliminate TREM2-positive myeloid subsets that contribute to immune suppression and tumor progression, thereby enhancing antitumor T-cell activity and potentially synergizing with checkpoint inhibitors. The product is being explored as a personalized cell therapy for solid tumors characterized by high infiltration of TREM2-positive tumor-associated macrophages, but detailed clinical development information, specific construct design, and sponsoring company have not been clearly disclosed in public sources.
