Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Tremelimumab and durvalumab is a combination of two monoclonal antibodies used as an immunotherapy for certain cancers. Tremelimumab is a fully human IgG2 monoclonal antibody that targets cytotoxic T-lymphocyte-associated antigen 4 (CTLA-4), acting as an immune checkpoint inhibitor to enhance T cell-mediated anti-tumor activity. Durvalumab is a human IgG1 monoclonal antibody that targets programmed death-ligand 1 (PD-L1), blocking its interaction with PD-1 and CD80, thereby promoting immune responses against tumor cells. The combination has been approved for the treatment of unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma and metastatic non-small cell lung cancer without EGFR or ALK mutations. Both drugs are developed by AstraZeneca[3][5][6][8].
