Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Nebulized Tyvaso is a formulation of **treprostinil**, delivered via inhalation using a dedicated portable nebulizer device. Treprostinil is a prostacyclin mimetic that acts as a vasodilator, primarily used in the treatment of **pulmonary arterial hypertension** (PAH; WHO Group 1) and **pulmonary hypertension associated with interstitial lung disease** (PH-ILD; WHO Group 3). It works by widening the pulmonary blood vessels, reducing vascular resistance, and improving exercise capacity. Clinical trials supporting its approval primarily included patients with NYHA Functional Class III symptoms. The nebulized form allows direct delivery to the lungs with minimal systemic exposure, administered 4 times daily using the Tyvaso Inhalation System[1][3][5].
