TreXTAM is a microparticulate therapeutic candidate developed by TherapyX for the treatment of autoimmune diseases. Currently in the IND-enabling stage, TreXTAM is based on the company's TreX platform, which focuses on the induction and expansion of regulatory T cells (Tregs) to restore immune tolerance. The formulation utilizes TherapyX's proprietary microparticle technology—typically composed of poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid) (PLGA)—to deliver a combination of Treg-promoting cytokines, such as Transforming growth factor beta (TGF-beta) and Interleukin-2 (IL-2), alongside specific autoantigens (Targeted Antigenic Microparticles or TAM). This site-specific, controlled-release approach is designed to suppress pathogenic immune responses while avoiding the systemic toxicity associated with high-dose cytokine therapy.
