Drug intelligence / Profile preview
TRG-200 (TRG-200 KIT) is an investigational intravesical sustained-release formulation of oxybutynin developed by Trigone Pharma Ltd. for the treatment of refractory overactive bladder (OAB). The product utilizes a proprietary localized drug delivery system consisting of a Carbopol gel matrix that, upon contact with urine, forms a soft solid mass within the bladder. This system is designed to provide prolonged local exposure of the anticholinergic agent oxybutynin to the bladder wall while minimizing systemic absorption and the associated side effects typical of oral anticholinergics. Oxybutynin acts as a muscarinic receptor antagonist, reducing detrusor muscle contractions to alleviate symptoms of urgency and urinary incontinence.
