Overview

TriaC-18 is a specific triazine-based hydrogelator designed as an innovative therapeutic platform for the treatment of melanoma. It functions with dual capabilities: as a controlled drug delivery system for anticancer agents like doxorubicin, enhancing their biocompatibility and reducing side effects, and by exhibiting intrinsic inhibitory activity against phosphoinositide 3-kinase (PI3K). PI3K is a key enzyme frequently mutated in cancer and plays a significant role in melanoma progression. TriaC-18 self-assembles into fibrous networks, facilitating its hydrogelation properties.
