Overview

Triamcinolone acetonide + laurocapram is a topical combination therapy used primarily for the treatment of inflammatory skin conditions such as atopic dermatitis. Triamcinolone acetonide is a synthetic corticosteroid of intermediate potency that acts as an agonist at the glucocorticoid receptor, inhibiting phospholipase A2 and reducing the synthesis of pro-inflammatory mediators like prostaglandins and leukotrienes, thereby decreasing inflammation, redness, swelling, and itching. Laurocapram (also known as azone) functions as a percutaneous absorption enhancer by interacting with lipids in the stratum corneum to increase skin permeability and improve drug delivery. Clinical studies have shown that this combination enhances clinical effectiveness compared to triamcinolone alone without compromising safety[5][8].
