Triaminic Thin Strips

Triaminic Thin Strips are a line of over-the-counter (OTC) pediatric medications developed by Novartis, specifically designed as oral disintegrating films (thin strips) that dissolve on the tongue. Launched in 2004, these products are intended for children aged 4 and older to relieve symptoms of the common cold, flu, and respiratory allergies. The product line includes several formulations: the Day Time Cold & Cough version combines dextromethorphan (a cough suppressant) and phenylephrine (a nasal decongestant); the Cough & Runny Nose version contains diphenhydramine (an antihistamine); and the Night Time Cold & Cough version combines diphenhydramine and phenylephrine. These small molecule drugs work by targeting specific receptors to suppress cough, reduce nasal congestion, and alleviate allergic symptoms like runny nose and sneezing.
