Overview

Tribromometacresol is an antifungal medication belonging to the class of organic compounds known as meta cresols. It contains a meta-cresol moiety with a benzene ring bearing a methyl group and a hydroxyl group at ring positions 1 and 3. Tribromometacresol has been used for the treatment of dermatomycoses (fungal infections of the skin). Its mechanism of action is not fully elucidated but it acts as an antifungal agent[2][3].
