Drug intelligence / Profile preview
tribulus saponins (marketed as Tribulus Saponins Capsules / 蒺藜皂苷胶囊) is a botanical extract derived from the traditional Chinese medicinal herb *Tribulus terrestris* (puncture vine). Developed by Changbai Shan Pharmaceutical, it is approved in China for the treatment of patients in the recovery period of cerebral infarction (stroke) with the traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) syndrome pattern of wind-phlegm-blood stasis obstruction. The drug exhibits anti-platelet aggregation, anti-coagulation, and anti-ischemic properties, helping to reduce cerebral infarct size, lower blood viscosity, and improve microcirculation. It is also widely studied as a dietary supplement for its potential to support male vitality, libido, and athletic performance, although its primary pharmaceutical indication is cerebrovascular recovery.
