Tridecactide is a 13-amino acid peptide biologic derived from the N-terminal proteolytic cleavage of adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH). It is chemically identical to the deacetylated and deaminated form of alpha-melanocyte stimulating hormone (alpha-MSH). Developed by Farmacija in collaboration with Bosnalijek, tridecactide is primarily utilized as a component of the fixed-dose combination therapy Enkorten, where it is paired with the neuropeptide metenkefalin. The drug functions as an immunomodulator by stimulating leukocytes and modulating Th1 cell activity to regulate the inflammatory cytokine response. It has been investigated in Phase 2/3 clinical trials for the treatment of moderate to severe COVID-19 and has also been studied for conditions such as rheumatoid arthritis.
