TRIFECTO

TRIFECTO is a veterinary combination drug available in Australia, primarily used for the treatment and control of internal parasites in animals. It contains four active pharmaceutical ingredients—abamectin, levamisole hydrochloride (a derivative of levamisole), oxfendazole, cobalt, and sodium selenite. Abamectin is an avermectin class antiparasitic that acts by binding to glutamate-gated chloride channels in nerve and muscle cells of parasites, causing paralysis and death. Levamisole is an imidazothiazole-class anthelmintic that works as a nicotinic acetylcholine receptor agonist at the neuromuscular junctions of nematodes, leading to paralysis. Oxfendazole is a benzimidazole-class broad-spectrum anthelmintic that inhibits microtubule polymerization by binding to beta-tubulin in parasitic worms.
