TriFiloVax is a trivalent filovirus vaccine candidate developed by Soligenix in collaboration with the University of HawaiʻI at Mānoa. It is designed to provide protection against three major filoviruses: Ebola virus (Zaire ebolavirus), Sudan virus (Sudan ebolavirus), and Marburg virus (Marburg marburgvirus). The vaccine utilizes a shared glycoprotein platform where recombinant protein subunits (glycoproteins) are produced using a proprietary insect cell expression system. It is formulated with the CoVaccine HT™ adjuvant, a nanoemulsion licensed from BTG Specialty Pharmaceuticals (a division of Boston Scientific) that is designed to enhance both humoral and cellular immune responses. A key feature of the TriFiloVax platform is its potential for heat stability, which would facilitate distribution in regions with limited cold-chain infrastructure. The program has received support from the National Institutes of Health (NIH) and is intended for both pre-exposure prophylaxis and potential use in outbreak settings.
