Drug intelligence / Profile preview
TriFol-BD is a multi-ingredient branded generic nutraceutical product developed and marketed by Sugen Pharma. It is formulated as an oral tablet containing a synergistic combination of the bioactive forms of essential B-vitamins—L-methylfolate, methylcobalamin, and pyridoxal-5-phosphate—alongside biotin and cholecalciferol (Vitamin D3). The product is primarily indicated for pregnancy support, the prevention of neural tube defects (NTDs), and the management of hyperhomocysteinemia. By providing L-methylfolate, the active form of folate that bypasses the MTHFR enzymatic step, TriFol-BD ensures optimal DNA synthesis and fetal neurological development. The addition of methylcobalamin and pyridoxal-5-phosphate supports nerve health and homocysteine metabolism, while biotin and vitamin D3 contribute to maternal metabolic health and bone density maintenance.
