Overview
Vesselon's STING agonist program utilizes the proprietary TriForm™ technology platform to deliver small molecule STING (Stimulator of Interferon Genes) agonists for the treatment of solid tumors. The formulation co-packages a STING agonist (such as MSA-1) with Imagent® lipid microspheres and liposomes. Upon intravenous administration, localized ultrasound is applied to the tumor site, triggering sonoporation—a process that creates temporary pores in cell membranes. This targeted activation significantly enhances the intracellular delivery and tumor uptake of the agonist, leading to robust interferon production and immune-mediated tumor regression. Preclinical studies conducted in collaboration with Merck demonstrated that this delivery method significantly increases tumor drug concentration compared to the agonist alone.
