Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Atépadène is an oral muscle relaxant containing triphosadenine disodium trihydrate (adenosine triphosphate disodium trihydrate) as its active ingredient. It is indicated as an adjunctive treatment for back pain (dorsalgia) in adults and adolescents over 15 years of age. Adenosine triphosphate (ATP) is a naturally occurring nucleotide that serves as the primary energy currency of cells and plays a critical role in muscle metabolism. By binding to myosin, ATP facilitates muscle relaxation by dissociating actin-myosin cross-bridges, thereby relieving muscle tension and spasm. Atépadène was originally developed by Mayoly Spindler and is currently marketed by Laboratoire X.O (LXO Group).
