Drug intelligence / Profile preview
*Trigonella foenum-graecum*, commonly known as fenugreek, is a botanical extract being investigated for its phytoestrogenic properties in dermatological applications. In the context of post-menopausal skin aging, the extract is formulated as a topical cream to address hypoestrogenism-related skin changes. It is thought to modulate skin physiology by stimulating the expression of Type I and Type III collagen (COL1A1 and COL3A1), thereby increasing skin thickness and reducing the appearance of wrinkles. The development for this specific indication is led by researchers at Universitas Indonesia.
