Overview

TRIM11 inhibitors are a class of small molecule compounds designed to target the tripartite motif-containing protein 11 (TRIM11), an E3 ubiquitin ligase that is frequently overexpressed in high-grade gliomas. TRIM11 plays a critical role in tumor progression by promoting cellular proliferation, invasion, and migration, while also modulating the p53 signaling pathway and apoptosis. Preclinical research, notably from the University of California, Irvine, has identified several lead compounds that inhibit the growth of glioblastoma (GBM) cells in a dose-dependent manner and may sensitize tumors to chemotherapy agents like temozolomide. Beyond oncology, TRIM11 has been identified as a potential target for neurodegenerative diseases.
