Overview

Triolax is a branded generic laxative suppository manufactured by the Indonesian pharmaceutical company PT Triman. It is a combination product containing 225 mg of glycerol and 225 mg of sodium lauryl sulfate. Glycerol acts as a hyperosmotic agent and a local stimulant, drawing water into the rectum and irritating the mucosal lining to trigger peristalsis. Sodium lauryl sulfate is a surfactant that functions as a stool softener by lowering the surface tension of fecal matter, allowing water and fats to penetrate and soften the stool. Triolax is indicated for the treatment of constipation and is designed to facilitate easier bowel movements by rehydrating feces and stimulating intestinal muscles.
