Overview

Triple Viable Bifidobacterium is a probiotic combination therapy consisting of live *Bifidobacterium longum*, *Lactobacillus acidophilus*, and *Enterococcus faecalis*. It is primarily used as a microbiome-modulating agent to regulate intestinal flora and improve gastrointestinal health. In clinical settings, particularly in neonatology, it is administered to preterm infants to facilitate the establishment of normal gut microbiota, which is often delayed due to factors such as antibiotic use, lack of breastfeeding, and delayed enteral feeding. By colonizing the intestinal tract with beneficial bacteria, the therapy aims to enhance the mucosal barrier, inhibit the growth of pathogenic microorganisms, and improve feeding tolerance. Research led by Wang Hua has specifically evaluated its efficacy in reducing feeding intolerance and preventing complications like necrotizing enterocolitis in preterm infants.
