Triptonodiol is a **diterpenoid compound** extracted from the Chinese medicinal plant *Tripterygium wilfordii* (commonly known as thunder god vine). It is being researched primarily as an **antitumor agent** due to its activity in inhibiting the proliferation, migration, and invasion of cancer cells, especially in non-small-cell lung cancer (NSCLC)[1][3][4][7]. Molecular studies indicate triptonodiol acts on multiple targets involved in tumor biology, notably by downregulating **glycogen synthase kinase 3 beta (GSK3B)**, impacting ErbB signaling pathways, protein kinase C (PKC), and p21-activated kinase (PAK)[1]. It inhibits cytoskeletal remodeling (including actin regulation), disrupts actin fibers, reduces formation of lamellipodia and filopodia, and thus decreases cell motility and metastasis[4]. Current evidence is preclinical, and further studies, including animal and clinical trials, are needed for confirmation[1].
