Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Triptorelin + nafarelin is a combination of two synthetic gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) agonists. Both drugs act by initially stimulating, then downregulating GnRH receptors in the pituitary gland, leading to decreased secretion of luteinizing hormone (LH) and follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH). This results in reduced production of sex steroids—testosterone in males and estrogen in females. Triptorelin is primarily used for advanced prostate cancer, central precocious puberty, and as part of assisted reproductive technologies. Nafarelin is indicated for central precocious puberty and endometriosis. The combination would theoretically provide additive or synergistic suppression of gonadal steroidogenesis via the same mechanism[1][3][6][8].
