This is a combination therapy of two agents used primarily in assisted reproductive technologies, especially in controlled ovarian hyperstimulation protocols for in vitro fertilization (IVF). Triptorelin is a synthetic gonadotropin-releasing hormone (GnRH) agonist that initially stimulates, then suppresses, the pituitary secretion of luteinizing hormone (LH) and follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH), leading to downregulation of endogenous gonadotropins. This prevents premature LH surges and ovulation during IVF cycles. Recombinant FSH is a laboratory-produced form of human follicle-stimulating hormone that directly stimulates the growth and maturation of ovarian follicles. The combination allows for precise control over ovarian stimulation by suppressing endogenous hormones with triptorelin while providing exogenous FSH to promote multiple follicular development[2][3][4][7].
