Triquilar

Triquilar is a triphasic combined oral contraceptive pill developed by Bayer for the prevention of pregnancy. It contains two active ingredients: ethinyl estradiol (a synthetic estrogen) and levonorgestrel (a synthetic progestogen). As a triphasic formulation, it delivers three different dose combinations over a 21-day cycle to mimic the natural hormonal fluctuations of the menstrual cycle. The primary mechanism of action involves the suppression of gonadotropins, which inhibits ovulation. Additionally, it thickens cervical mucus to impede sperm penetration and alters the endometrium to reduce the likelihood of implantation. It is available in 21-day and 28-day (with 7 placebo tablets) regimens.
