Overview

Triskellines is a small-molecule drug candidate developed by Perha Pharmaceuticals, currently in preclinical development for the prevention of hearing loss induced by ototoxic drugs, such as cisplatin and aminoglycoside antibiotics. The mechanism of action involves targeting a specific G protein-coupled receptor (GPCR) that plays a protective role for the ciliated cells in the inner ear. By modulating this GPCR, Triskellines aims to prevent the damage and subsequent loss of these sensory cells, which are critical for auditory function. This therapeutic approach is intended to be administered alongside ototoxic treatments to mitigate permanent hearing impairment in patients undergoing chemotherapy or intensive antibiotic therapy.
