Overview

Triticum aestivum pollen extract is an allergenic extract derived from the pollen of common wheat (*Triticum aestivum*), a member of the Gramineae (grass) family. Developed by ASAC Pharmaceutical Inmunology, S.A., it is utilized both as a diagnostic tool in allergy skin prick testing and as an investigational therapeutic agent for type I hypersensitivity reactions, including allergic rhinitis and allergic conjunctivitis caused by grass pollen. The extract acts on the IgE-mediated immune pathway, where it is used to assess sensitivity in patients or to induce immunological tolerance through allergen-specific immunotherapy. It has been studied in Phase 2 clinical trials for biological standardization to determine relative potency, diagnostic concentration, and sensitivity.
