Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This is a **topical combination product** consisting of **triticum vulgare extract** (a wheat germ extract rich in antioxidants, vitamins, and oligosaccharides with regenerative and anti-inflammatory properties[2][3][7]) and **silver sulfadiazine** (a sulfonamide-based antimicrobial agent widely used for prevention and treatment of burn wound infections). Triticum vulgare extract accelerates skin repair by stimulating fibroblast and keratinocyte proliferation, promoting ECM formation, enhancing tissue regeneration, and exhibiting anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and mitogenic effects. Silver sulfadiazine acts by inhibiting bacterial DNA synthesis, thus providing broad-spectrum antimicrobial protection against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, including most burn pathogens. The combined formulation is used primarily for the treatment of burns, chronic skin ulcers, bedsores, skin lesions, acute wounds, and prevention of infection in such wounds, providing both a wound healing agent and infection control. This combination is available in topical cream, ointment, and sometimes spray or dressing forms.
