The trivalent cell-based influenza subunit vaccine is an investigational immunizing agent developed by Fosun Adgenvax for the prevention of seasonal influenza. Unlike traditional influenza vaccines produced in embryonated chicken eggs, this candidate utilizes cell-based manufacturing technology, which potentially offers a more scalable production process and avoids egg-adaptive mutations that can compromise vaccine effectiveness. As a subunit vaccine, it contains purified hemagglutinin (HA) antigens from three influenza strains (typically two A subtypes and one B lineage) rather than the whole virus, aiming to elicit a robust and specific neutralizing antibody response while maintaining a favorable safety profile. It is currently in the Pre-IND/IND stage of development.
