A combination vaccine candidate composed of **trivalent coronavirus enveloped virus-like particles (VLPs)**—representing three coronavirus antigens—along with the adjuvant **aluminum phosphate** and the synthetic **TLR4 agonist E6020**. The virus-like particles mimic the structure of coronaviruses without containing their genetic material, promoting an immune response to the viral spike and envelope proteins. **Aluminum phosphate** acts as an adjuvant, enhancing the humoral (Th2-biased) immune response, mainly by improving antigen uptake and presentation by antigen presenting cells, and stimulating innate immunity via NLRP3 and related inflammatory pathways[1][2][3]. **E6020** is a synthetic lipid A mimetic (related to monophosphoryl lipid A/MPLA) and functions as a toll-like receptor 4 (TLR4) agonist to stimulate stronger innate immune activation, especially promoting Th1-type responses. This composite adjuvant strategy is designed to deliver a balanced Th1/Th2 response, increasing both antibody production and cellular immunity. The vaccine is under research and is intended for the prevention of coronavirus infections.
