Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This drug entry refers to the co-administration of two separate vaccines: a trivalent inactivated influenza vaccine (TIV, brand name Anflu) and a live attenuated varicella vaccine. The TIV, developed by Sinovac Biotech, is a split-virion vaccine containing 15 µg of hemagglutinin from three influenza strains: A/H1N1, A/H3N2, and B/Victoria. The varicella vaccine, developed by Sinovac (Dalian) Vaccine Technology, utilizes the Oka strain of the varicella-zoster virus. A Phase 4 clinical trial in China evaluated the safety and immunogenicity of administering these two vaccines simultaneously in healthy children aged 7 to 12 years, demonstrating that co-administration is non-inferior to separate administration and is well-tolerated.
