Trivrita avaleha is a traditional Ayurvedic semi-solid herbal preparation (Leha Kalpana) used primarily as a purgative and laxative. The formulation's primary active ingredient is the root of *Operculina turpethum* (Trivrit), which is processed with a decoction of the same plant, sugar or jaggery, and a combination of spices known as Trijata (*Cinnamomum tamala*, *Cinnamomum verum*, and *Elettaria cardamomum*), along with honey. It is a cornerstone of 'Virechana Karma' (therapeutic purgation) in Panchakarma therapy. Its mechanism involves stimulating the intestinal mucosa to induce bowel movements, making it effective for chronic constipation, skin diseases like psoriasis, and as a detoxifying agent.
