TRK-950 + paclitaxel

TRK-950 + paclitaxel is an investigational combination therapy for advanced or metastatic gastric and gastro-esophageal junction (GEJ) adenocarcinoma. TRK-950 is a first-in-class humanized antibody that targets CAPRIN-1, a membrane protein highly expressed on various cancer cells and cancer stem cells. TRK-950 binds specifically to CAPRIN-1, demonstrating anti-tumor effects via engagement of immune cells. In clinical trials, TRK-950 is combined with paclitaxel (a microtubule inhibitor chemotherapeutic agent) and sometimes also with ramucirumab, though the focus here is on the combination of TRK-950 and paclitaxel. This regimen is being developed to improve clinical outcomes in patients with disease progression after first-line therapy for gastric or GEJ cancer, especially those whose tumors overexpress CAPRIN-1.
