TRL3D3 is a native human monoclonal antibody developed by Trellis Bioscience that targets the respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) G protein, also known as the RSV attachment glycoprotein. Unlike existing therapies that target the RSV F protein and are primarily used for prophylaxis, TRL3D3 is designed to neutralize both viral infectivity and the proinflammatory effects of the G protein during acute infection. Preclinical studies have demonstrated that TRL3D3 blocks cell entry into airway epithelial cells, exhibits direct antiviral activity, reduces viral load, and reverses airway inflammation caused by RSV infection. In animal models, it has shown significantly greater efficacy than palivizumab (Synagis), including when administered post-infection. The antibody was discovered using Trellis’ proprietary CellSpot technology and binds to conserved conformational epitopes on the RSV G protein[1][2][3][4].
