Drug intelligence / Profile preview
TROCEPT-03 is a potential drug candidate within the TROCEPT platform, developed by Accession Therapeutics Limited. The TROCEPT platform utilizes engineered cancer-tropic viruses, specifically based on type 5 adenovirus, designed to selectively infect and replicate only within tumor cells, avoiding healthy tissues. These viruses deliver therapeutic transgenes directly into cancer cells, effectively turning the cancer cells into local drug factories. The therapeutic payloads, such as immune checkpoint inhibitors or bispecific antibodies, are then produced and secreted within the tumor microenvironment. This dual mechanism of oncolytic viral activity and localized drug production aims to initiate and amplify a potent anti-tumor immune response while minimizing systemic toxicity. The platform is designed for intravenous administration and targets specific tumor markers like αvβ6 integrin for selective entry into cancer cells.
