Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Trofis is a non-hormonal vulvar moisturizing gel developed by Biolab Farmacêutica, specifically formulated to address vulvar dryness and enhance the female sexual response. The product's therapeutic efficacy is derived from a synergistic combination of plant-derived active ingredients, including visnadine, ethyl ximeninate, *Coleus barbatus* extract, and *Panicum miliaceum* extract. Visnadine acts as a potent local vasodilator, while forskolin (the active component of *Coleus barbatus*) stimulates adenylate cyclase to increase intracellular cyclic adenosine monophosphate (cAMP) levels, further promoting vasodilation and tissue health. Ethyl ximeninate enhances microvascular kinetics, and millet extract (*Panicum miliaceum*) provides essential vitamins and minerals to restore the vulvar lipid barrier and improve hydration. Trofis is primarily indicated for women experiencing sexual dysfunction or discomfort associated with vulvovaginal atrophy, such as dyspareunia, frequently seen during the menopausal transition or in women using certain hormonal contraceptives.
