Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Biafine is a water-based emulsion formulated for the dressing and management of superficial wounds, minor abrasions, dermal ulcers, donor sites, 1st and 2nd degree burns (including sunburns), and radiation dermatitis. When applied properly to a wound, Biafine provides an optimum moist environment for the healing process. It contains ingredients like paraffin, squalane, and avocado oil that provide occlusive properties, hydration, and skin-soothing benefits. The active ingredient trolamine (0.670 g per 100 g emulsion) works as an emollient to treat or prevent dry, rough, scaly, itchy skin and minor skin irritations.
